A Cause Worth Fighting For.

End The Backlog

We can handle the design

Need design as well as development? We’ve got you covered. Our in-house, Webby-nominated designer Chris Antonelle is on hand to sprinkle some magic on your site. Having design and development done by BFC means we’re with you every step of the way, as the folks at End the Backlog discovered to their benefit.

Visit Site

Mobile first

All our sites are built with multiple devices in mind. Visitors can easily view our sites no matter what the platform, as illustrated in the graphic above. Mobile use of websites exceeds desktop use at this point (see statistics here) and we lean heavily on frameworks that adopt a mobile-first philosophy, guaranteeing great performance on even the tiniest platforms.

End the Backlog’s homepage combines stark colors with functionality found throughout the site, providing a hard-hitting introduction to the cause. There are several full-page sliders, a preview of the interactive map section, a chance to sign up for updates, and many other details.

Of particular note is the eye-catching top menu, which draws on key jQuery functionality to help animate certain elements and provide a distinct guide to the overall feel of the site.

ENDTHEBACKLOG is a program of the Joyful Heart Foundation a national non-profit organization founded by actress and activist Mariska Hargitay with the mission to heal, educate and empower survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence and child abuse, and to shed light into the darkness that surrounds these issues.

Map Page

The map section at the heart of End the Backlog’s site is one of its most attractive features. We used a Javascript plugin to make the map, helping Joyful Heart to clearly outline the importance of their message.

A degree of flexibility was stirred into the mix, allowing us to extend it to include further sections whenever needed, such as the addition of stats related to the Accountability Project in 2014.
