Nice to meet you.

Chris Antonelle

Designer

Chris brings more than a decade of experience as a highly sought after designer of websites and user interfaces. He takes a research-based approach to design; finding solutions for people that help increase their sales, build their brands, and create stronger customer relationships. Chris is also an experienced project director and has extensive experience overseeing teams of various sizes. He is skilled in a host of design/development tools and platforms including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, HTML, CSS, and Javascript. Chris came on board with BFC in late 2014 after working with us for five years as a freelancer, including the designs for the Webby nominated End the Backlog.

Jill Seiden

Drupal / Wordpress Strategist & Site Builder

Jill has more than 7 years of experience in WordPress and Drupal site building — researching, installing, and configuring modules or plugins as well as creating tagging systems, content types, and fields across those content types. She has an excellent record of delivering easy-to-use products to our clients. She often leads training sessions once sites have been built to make sure clients are comfortable with their new site.

Before joining BFC, Jill was a student at the State University of New York at New Paltz. She grew up in Queens with a large extended family. She will often share stories about her many, many relatives. And if she’s not talking about her family, she’s chatting about television shows.

Ben Freda

Founder, Father, Haircut Neglector

Ben Freda has more than 10 years of experience in web technology. For four years, Ben worked at PICnet, Inc., a firm that specializes in providing Joomla services to nonprofit organizations. After PICnet closed its New York office in 2009, Ben started Ben Freda Consulting, a web consulting shop focusing on solutions using the Joomla, Drupal, and WordPress content management systems.

Before PICnet, Ben, having attended Columbia Law School with little forethought about how much a real-life legal career might differ from what he’d seen on television shows like Law and Order, worked for two years as a big-firm lawyer in New York City. Prior to that career diversion, he worked at AutoWhiz.com, a web startup.

Arielle DiGiacomo

Web Developer

Arielle joined the Ben Freda Consulting team early in 2012, and now helps to create customized Drupal and WordPress themes from Photoshop and Illustrator designs using HTML, CSS, and PHP. She came to web development by way of library school, where she was trained in HTML, CSS, Flash, JavaScript and PHP, as well as information management, information visualization, and user experience design and testing. Arielle discovered a surprising knack for web development during her time in graduate school, and enjoys putting together the puzzle of converting designs into working websites.

Nick Neyland

Web Developer

Nick came to BFC in 2013 from a background in the editorial world, with a history as an editor and writer for publications including the BBC, the Wall Street Journal, Pitchfork, Red Bull Music Academy, the New York Press, and many others. While working in the field he picked up a broad range of web development skills—an increasingly necessary part of the job for any writer/editor—which he expanded on after building websites for small businesses in the early 2000s.

Alice Freda

Support Manager

Alice has been working with the web since before the days of Facebook and Twitter — you should have seen her Friendster account. Fancy stuff. In her days, she’s covered all the bases — from marketing goods online to teenyboppers, to writing specs for big tech projects, to her current role: helping our clients with day-to-day care, maintenance, and feeding of websites. She’s fluent in Joomla, Drupal, and WordPress.

About The Company

BFC was formed as a solo venture by Ben Freda in 2010, who quickly expanded the company as demand for his web services far outstripped supply. Initially calling the organization Ben Freda Consulting, then stripping it down to just BFC, the company’s main aim is to partner with creative agencies to provide web services for a broad range of clients.

Partners Ben and his team have worked with include Free Range Studios, Rodriguez Valle CreativeProvoc, Big Duck, Firefly Partners, Friends of the Highline, the Joyful Heart Foundation, UC Berkeley, and many others.

Why We Do What We Do

At BFC we take a friendly approach to web development and technical support, making sure the expectations of our clients are exceeded on the road to building and maintaining a web portal. Our affable outlook has led to long term partnerships with numerous creative agencies and clients, with many signing up to maintenance contracts after the initial phase of development is complete.

Our core philosophy accentuates the need to be welcoming and sympathetic to issues that may arise, while always being attentive and amiable in tone, leading to working relationships that positively flower from the get go.

It’s in the rare combination of highly personable customer relations and razor-sharp development skills that we thrive, causing us to attract both staff and clients driven to work in an environment that’s busy, fun, and highly creative.
